Canada!
Posted 29th May 2009
Canada has always been a special place for me as we have friends in the Thousand Islands region about 100km from Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
We started in Montreal, and had the day to explore the city. We strolled for some time in the centre of the city and grabbed some lunch in a cafe.
I had some radio interviews, some of which I performed on and it was fantastic to speak to many of the same presenters I had seen before.
The next day we drove to Ottawa where I would perform in a tv show and also do a live performance in a mall that I often visited on my first visits to Ottawa. when we arrived, it was a beautiful spring day’ and we had dinner in a nice restaurant in the open air.
I enjoyed my performance, and it was great to meet everyone, including some that I had met after my show in Ottawa last year.
After the fine weather of Ottawa, it was time to head to Toronto. Toronto is one of our favourite places, as although it is big, it is very friendly. We stayed in the hotel where the Queen stays in when she is in Toronto, and I did many of my interviews in the Queen’s suite.
We made a point of returning to our favourite steakhouse, Barberien’s where the food and the service was as good as ever. I had an unscheduled trip to Montreal to do an interview on a show called Toute le Monde en Parle (All the world in speech). The show was great fun, and I was particularly impressed with how quick the translator was!
We made our way back that evening to Toronto’ where I would be performing at First Canadian Place. I was amazed by how many people turned up! About 5000 people were there to watch me, which is just incredible! It is always fantastic to meet the people that give me the very special opportunity that I have.
Before we were to return to New York, I did a signing at a large supermarket where apparently they rarely do signings. It was then time to catch our flight to New York, where we arrived in the evening to be greeted by blue skies.
Thankyou again Canada for your support and friendliness. I’m looking forward to returning in June where I start my North America tour in Vancouver.

Hello from Halifax, Nova Scotia!!
Paul, I have been watching you since the days of Britian’s Got Talent ( I am not a stalker, honestly)and I must say that you have one of the nicest natural voices I have ever heard. I have notices a change in the way you sing over the past little while, Are you still training your voice or is it just a matter of gaining more confidence in your gift? Whatever the reason, Don’t stop!!! you ae improving with each time I hear you - thanks to youtube
Love ya!

Glad to hear you like Canada but you were on the wrong coast, well almost on the coast when you use Canadian kilometers. I know you are going to make up for that in June when you start your tour in Vancouver. I am a huge fan and think your story is wonderful. I cannot make your concert but was wondering if you might be able to post a list of other events or appearances that you might be making while in Vancouver. Sincere wishes for continued success.

Just a quick note to THANK YOU for bringing so much joy into my mother’s life. She really enjoyed your first CD so I purchased your new one for her on Mother’s Day. And now that her birthday is coming up, I’m buying tickets for your Toronto show. She will be so excited. Thank you!

Paul, Your story touched me so much and I’m so happy for you and you deserve every minute of your success. I’m like you with a gift for composing nice melodies but only close friends as public. Elementary school was horrible and I have learned to run fast after school just because I was…. It took me at least 30 times listening your first audition before being able to look at without crying. Your new album make me cry of joy, your voice is a pure pleasure because it is the most “natural” opera voice I’ve ever eared. You could sing the phone book and it would sound nice… I will send you the hit song of your next album, just tell me how it work for you to get it. Until than, take care of you and bless the world with your gifted voice.
